Vanguard Announces the VEO 2 Travel Tripod

Vanguard, the global manufacturer of photo-video optics and accessories, has announced the second generation of its VEO travel tripod range, the VEO 2

The new lightweight, durable VEO 2 is aimed squarely at travel photographers and weighing less than its predecessor, the tripod features all new materials, including carbon fibre.

Vanguard’s new VEO 2 Travel Tripods are ultra-compact and lightweight to compliment the travel photographer’s lifestyle and the collection continues to offer some of the advanced features of robust, full-sized camera-support systems – Joanne Mitchell, UK/Ire Marketing Manager, Vanguard

Described by Vanguard as “The Collection that Knows its Way Around the World”, VEO 2 has been inspired by everything that made the original VEO tripod the success that it was, with improvements throughout.

Vanguard is releasing 12 different configurations which will include either aluminium or carbon fibre legs, a choice of four or five leg sections, three different colour choices [available in black, red, or blue], and a choice between a ball head or a pan head.

The new VEO 2  fits into a standard backpack or carry-on case, with the smallest of the VEO 2 models measuring 40.5cm folded length, and the longest at 44.5cm. In terms of height, VEO 2 extends to as tall as 155cm Versatility in the field.

Compatible spiked feet are available separately and the heads feature Arca compatible quick release plates with pan/ball head, friction control and a separate pan lock, depending on the model. The tripod’s soft rubber handle provides grip and there is a dedicated suspension loop on the canopy to accommodate counterbalance weight for additional stability.

Vanguard has also designed new ‘VEO Discover’ bags, designed to complement the new tripods. Including innovative tripod carrying systems, the VEO Discover messenger bags and backpacks/slings [which have already won a Red Dot Award for design] will allow photographers to carry their VEO 2 tripod as a carry-on.
