The Photography Show Will Be Virtual This Year: Returns live September 2021
The Photography Show, which, along with many other trade shows, found itself being delayed due to to the global health crisis, subsequently, [possibly optimistically] moving its date to September 202 has announced that this year’s event will be virtual.
The new version of the photography and video event will now take place on the 20th and 21st September 2020 online and to a global audience and promises to retain as much of the format that many visitors know and love as it possibly can. The Photography Show and The Video Show as we know it in ‘normal’ times will return to the NEC in Birmingham, UK between the 18th – 21st September 2021.
Jonny Sullens, head of events at show organisers Future, said: “While we believe that there’s nothing quite comparable to the benefits of the live show, we know that the decision to take The Photography Show & The Video Show online this year and return to the NEC in 2021 is the best solution for our community during these unprecedented times. Of course, we’re disappointed not to be making the annual trip to Birmingham, but we’re really excited about what the virtual event can offer. The virtual platform we’re using is incredibly versatile and provides us with a fantastic opportunity to try something new, showing off photography and video in a different way. We look forward to seeing everyone in September, albeit virtually!”
Visitors to the virtual event are being promised the ability to ‘visit’ exhibitor stands to see the latest products, attend talks from industry experts, network breakout areas and gallery experiences. We’re told that whilst visitors experiences for this event will be quite different, the show will feel as familiar as possible and that the platform is at the very leading edge of virtual event technology.
Brands including Canon, Olympus and Fujifilm, have expressed their enthusiasm for the virtual event and we’re told that they are working hard with organisers on how they can make the event a valuable and exciting experience for all visitors.
The 2020 virtual event will be free for all to attend, and all entry tickets and passes already booked for the March 2020 event will be held for the 2021 dates. For more information, head to the Photography Show website.
