Dench on 1997 [& Chris Floyd’s Book: ‘The Verve’]

As Chris Floyd‘s new book of photographs of the heady days of The Verve, [1994-1998] hits the shelves, we follow up our announcement of the book, published by Reel Art Press ,  with a piece from Peter Dench. Attending the book launch, during the exhibition at Art Bermondsey Project Spacein London, as he did, Peter reflects on the time captured in the book, and reminds us, [at least, those of us who were at the ‘right’ age at the time] of what a special period this really was.

Having spent many years working in various pockets of the music industry, and always with a camera in hand, Simon has worked with organisations such as Warner/Chappell, Food Records and ultimately, co-founding the innovative independent record label, Izumi Records before moving fully into the world of publishing in 2007. Amongst numerous other projects in the last decade, he has been responsible for a number of specialist photo trade magazines and journals for the filmmaking and photography communities, along with a coffee table book entitled, "Great Britons of Photography' which he produced with Peter Dench and Leica.
