Manfrotto Announce New Range of Camera Cages for Videographers

Manfrotto and Wooden Camera, a brand from their sister company, Vitec Group, have produced a new range of innovative camera cages created specifically for videographers using high-end DSLR and mirrorless cameras

The selection available through this collaboration is made up from a small, medium and a large Camera Cage, along with a baseplate; all of which are brand-new to the Manfrotto video range.

Manfrotto’s new camera cages offer easy access to the right side-grip of the camera, meaning that users can remove the camera’s battery without removing the camera from the cage itself.

The modular design of the new camera cages from Manfrotto allows users to use a variety of mirrorless and DSLR camera’s from Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Nikon and Olympus, with many other brands being manufactured specifically for individual brands and/or models.

You’ll find mounting locations on the side and top of the cages, leaving easy access for the camera’s controls on the right grip and left side. The new camera cages host a reversible top handle, which can be positioned over the lens area or switched to a side handle. The handle includes a cold shoe mount and 15mm tube clamp for mounting additional Wooden Camera UVF Mount kits.

The models feature ¼” attachments for connecting a range of accessories, as well as Manfrotto’s unique 3/8 anti-rotation attachment for adding devices without the bother of unwanted rotation.  They also include an HDMI cable clamp, which fastens video cables to prevent damage to the ports.

Both small and medium-size camera cages include an integrated lens adapter, which supports Wooden Camera and Metabones adapters

The Large version gives height-adjustable rod clamps for placing 15mm rods at the right distance to the centre of the lens.

The 15mm Baseplate, also announced today, is height-adjustable attachment for 15mm lightweight rods and a variety of Manfrotto rods are available and compatible with the small and medium camera cages + base plate [300mm long] and the large camera cage [150mm Short].

Pricing and availability

Manfrotto Camera Cages are available now and priced from £289.95.
