Triple Camera with Ultra-Fusion Computational Photography

The new HONOR Magic4 Pro smartphone arrives driving industry benchmarks with a new Triple Camera combination that features a 50MP Wide Camera with a 1/1.56-inch colour sensor, a 50MP 122o Ultra-Wide Camera, and a 64MP Periscope Telephoto Camera. All of this is powered by high-end Ultra-Fusion Computational Photography which we’re told allows the device to produce high-definition images, even from a distance. This is driven by ‘Multi-Camera Computational Photography’ that enables fusion across the full focal length range – essentially combining the power and features of all cameras to gain the very best result via AI.

The 50MP Wide Camera and the 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera promise a 65% increase in image sharpness and clarity by applying Computational Photography. Using the same fusion computational photography with the wide camera, the 64MP Periscope Telephoto Camera suggests an ability of a 3.5x Optical Zoom and a 100x Digital Zoom, further enhancing image sharpness and clarity by 160%. This, we have to see.

HONOR also takes a leap with advanced photography while video recording. Based on HONOR’s Dual Chain Computational Photography and Videography Algorithm, we’re told that the HONOR Magic4 Pro can shoot high-quality stills while shooting video footage, which is not limited by the video recording quality. Something that’s common in other smartphones at the moment.

Cinematic Videography with ‘Magic-Log Movie Master

Promising ‘cinematic-level’ footage, the HONOR Magic4 Series boasts the HONOR Magic-Log Movie Master and AI Film Effects. With this, the HONOR Magic4 Series arrives with an industry-first 10-bit Log 4K video recording in 60fps. Something that, if true and if the HONOR Magic4 Pro really delivers what it says, it will have set another industry benchmark.

With Cinematic 3D LUT [Look Up Table] capacities, its Magic-Log format is designed to help users edit videos in exceptional, cinematic colour hues.
