Holy Moly! Lexar Announces 1TB SD Card

Not only has Lexar risen from the ashes in recent months, but the mega-memory-manufacturer has now used CES 2019 to launch their latest show-stopper product; the super-fast, Lexar® Professional 633x SDXC™ UHS-I card with a whopping 1 terabyte [1TB] of storage capacity.

Key features

  • Class 10 UHS-I [U3, V30] tech
  • Read/transfer speeds of [up to] up to 95MB/s [633x]
  • Shoot in 1080p full-HD, 3D, and 4K video
  • High-speed file transfer between card and computer for super-fast workflow

With this latest announcement, photographers and videographers look set to be able to shoot and record huge amounts without the need to continually change memory cards. Any creative professional will know the limitations and the often jarring need to ‘stop & switch’ that comes with ‘regular’ capacity memory cards when working on professional work. This new, high-capacity memory card, designed for use with mid-range DSLRs, HD camcorders, and 3D cameras promises to allow you to swiftly capture, and transfer high-quality photographs, sharp 1080p full-HD, 3D, and 4K video content, with read speeds of up to 633x [95MB/s].

Joey Lopez, Senior Marketing Manager, Lexar, told PhotoBite: “Almost fifteen years ago, Lexar announced a 1GB SD™ card. Today, we are excited to announce 1TB of storage capacity in the same convenient form factor. As consumers continue to demand greater storage for their cameras, the combination of high-speed performance with a 1TB option now offers a solution for content creators who shoot large volumes of high-resolution images and 4K video.”

Pricing and availability

The 1TB Lexar® Professional 633x SDXC™ UHS-I card is available now and will cost you a little under £400. It also comes with a limited-lifetime warranty. For more info, head to Lexar’s website.
