Aimed at aspiring filmmakers, Canon has announced the LEGRIA HF G26. A brand-new, portable, Full HD camcorder with a 28.8mm wide-angle lens and 20x optical zoom

With a variety of impressive features, the new LEGRIA HF G26 promises accurate and quality results in challenging circumstances. The Intelligent Image Stabiliser [IS] offers compensation for 5 axes of camera motion, which is essential for steady filming, even at extreme zoom. Supporting its Full HD precision, the LEGRIA HF G26 highlights Instant Autofocus for rapid identification of a subject position and distance.

The LEGRIA HF G26’s three-position switch means that you can interchange between Manual, Auto and Cinema modes without adjusting individual settings and with [up to] 20x optical zoom, the new camcorder facilitates video from wide shots to super close-ups, distant shots; all in Full-HD, 50p at 35Mbps delivering high-quality footage, while evenly distributing tones and managing areas of brightness.

The new LEGRIA’s 2.91MP 1/2.84-Type HD CMOS Pro sensor and DIGIC DV4 processors promise to deliver excellent light sensitivity, contrast and wide dynamic range without compromising Full 1080p HD. This should give filmmakers the ability to capture content in conditions with light as low as 0.1 lux, ideal for video nuts shooting at night and in low light generally. Similarly, the LEGRIA HF G26 compensates overexposure in bright conditions with its built-in ND Filter reducing the amount of light that reaches the sensor.

The LEGRIA HF G26 offers dual SD card slots for continuous shooting and complete back ups, along with an HDMI terminal to engage with a range of advanced interfaces, including connectivity to a 3.5mm headphone and 3.5mm mic jack, plus Mini Advanced Shoe input.
