Behind The Lens Lineup Announced for The Photography Show 2018
With a wide range of sessions, which will range from shooting wildlife, a business boot camp and panel discussion focusing on how ‘Entering a photo competition can change your life’, there’s plenty to benefit amateur and pro image makers to develop ideas in both moving and still image capture.
Karl Holtby [Sigma ambassador], will reveal how his photographic journey became an antidote for his recovery from illness and how an exploration of the use of emotion has led him towards a certain aesthetic in his image making.
Laura Zalenga, [Sony ambassador], will take to the stage to share her experience in self-portraiture. Her honest and unusual photography demonstrates a unique style that has seen her gather an Instagram audience of 130,000+.
Peter Dench [Olympus ambassador] will discuss ‘Taking advantage of your photographic heroes without taking advantage of them’. He will probe the influence that many great photographers, in particular, Paul Graham, have had on his own work, and how he has learned from them, rather than imitating their work.
Tommy Reynolds [PixaPro ambassador], will show behind-the-scenes footage from a week living with a Peruvian Tribe. Tommy’s time was spent examining the use of video footage along with shooting stills as a more immersive storytelling method.
Tesni Ward [Benro ambassador] will talk about her practice for determining locations & how she gains acceptance from her subjects, giving her greater intimacy with the animals she photographs and lending a distinctive quality to her photographic work.
Along with these sessions, you can also expect to find a panel discussion in amongst the program from the World Photography Organisation and the Association of Photography which will cover the topic of how entering competitions can change your life!
Sessions are included in the show entry ticket fee and will take place across all four days of the show [17-20 March 2018].
