Bee Having a Wee Photo: Sweeps the Web

With the clear sounds of friends and an increasing number of people across the internet shouting, “you’ll never catch that shot a second time”, amateur photographer Mark Parrott, 45, nods as he admits to having been in the right place at the right time and was lucky enough to snap a photograph at the very moment that a bee squirted a tiny stream of uric acid, the Bee equivalent of wee!

“I was shocked with excitement when I saw the shot and couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” Parrott stated to the Grimsby Telegraph, his local rag.

Mark’s shot of the Bee – in action

“There was a steady stream of wee coming from the cheeky little bee. I think this is probably a very rare shot indeed! It’s difficult to get good close up shots without a tripod and this one was taken handheld.”

As you can see – Mark was shooting with a DSLR camera, but there’s no reason at all why you can’t capture images like these – especially using some of the natty smartphone lenses that are on the market now, offering all kinds of effects from macro to fish eye. PhotoBite’s test section, ‘The Measure’ will try some of these out during the coming months and will give you our verdict!
