More camera news as the Fujifilm X-S10 arrives to offer Fujifilm’s X-Series mirrorless cameras to a new, to a mid-level audience, with a bunch of appealing features and functions in both video and photo capture. Could this be the baby X-T4? Read on to find out.

Available from mid-November [2020] and with a range of kit lens options, the X-S10 comes complete with plenty of pro-level elements including a 26.1MP X-TransTM CMOS 4 sensor, a high-speed image processing engine and in-body image stabilisation [IBIS]. It boasts 100% phase-detect AF coverage and promises users uncropped 4K video, too.

There’s a lot to be said for this new camera from Fujifilm and, as with many mirrorless cameras in the consumer market, the X-S10 ticks the boxes of being light, capable of producing sharp stills and lively video content at a price point that will suit the enthusiast customer.

Video

The X-S10 arrives boasting some quite advanced video functions and capabilities, with 4K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit video or high-speed full-HD video at 240fps. It sports a vari-angle LCD screen that can also be rotated 180 degrees to give great monitoring for filmmakers, vloggers and photographers alike. The X-S10 will produce 4K video from the amount of data equivalent to 6K to guarantee high res, low noise footage and will output 4K/30p 4:2:2 10-bit video via the HDMI port. The new camera also promises high-speed full-HD video recording at 240p, producing up to 10x slow-mo footage.

Along with the camera’s native IBIS, it also boasts a ‘Digital Image Stabilisation’ [DIS] mode which promises to compensate for camera shake, even when shooting moving images on foot. Its IS Mode Boost gives EVEN MORE stabilisation, which Fujifilm says will almost completely eliminate camera shake from a fixed or hand-held position.

There’s a dedicated movie button on the top of the camera and it’s even possible to start recording video footage whilst continuing to shoot stills with exposure and focus settings being automatically set when in AUTO mode.
