The International Filter Photo Contest Returns for 2019

The International Filter Photo Contest [IFPC] is returning for a 2019 programme, celebrating its 9th outing after launching in 2009 and strives to recognise photographic works that show creative use of photographic filters.

The contest, sponsored by Hoya, Cokin, Kenko and Formatt-Hitech filters intend to draw the greatest shots from all over the globe and, as with previous competitions, the images submitted will be judged by well-known photographers from 4 separate countries.

There will be one ‘Grand Prize’ of Yen 500,000 Yen, which will be awarded to the overall winner. There will also be a ‘Judges Special Prize’ presented, of 100,000 Yen along with 30 ‘Excellent Work’ prizes of 10,000 Yen-worth of Kenko-Tokina group products.

How to enter

Entries are open from now until 31st October 2019 with the following guidelines

  • Photos submitted should make effective use of camera filters
  • Filters used may be from any manufacturer
  • Filters such as Protectors whose effects cannot be seen in the photograph are not permitted
  • Photos that have been heavily edited using retouching software cannot be accepted

Winners of the International Filter Photo Contest 2019 will be announced at Filter-Zone.com in February 2020 as well as at the annual CP+ Asian Camera Show 2020 in Japan.
