Saatchi Gallery and Huawei present From Selfie to Self-Expression

This unusual event, produced in partnership with mobile manufacturer, Huawei, is going to be the first ever Saatchi show to exhibit self-portraits of the general public with the inclusion of The #SaatchiSelfieCompetition, which launched earlier this week.

Often dismissed as ‘less-than-serious’ photography and largely considered to be associated with the smartphone/Instagram generation, Saatchi Gallery will celebrate Selfie and will be taking a look at iconic selfies through the ages from the first self-portrait artists such as Rembrandt all the way through to Frida Kahlo, Tracey Emin and the modern celebrity selfie including Kim Kardashian and Donald Trump.
